As a civil engineer by trade, Kona has been involved in multi-million-rand projects in the water and sanitation, roads, and in the mining, aviation and building sectors in some of the leading consulting engineering companies in South Africa.

His involvement was in significant positions such as Lead Civil Engineer, Business Unit Head, and Director of the civil engineering division among others, and now he holds the Group Executive Officer role at Phunga Holdings – a wholly black-owned Level 2 BEE company headquartered in Gauteng – and is the founder and Director of Mkona Consulting Engineers, a subsidiary of Phunga Holdings.

Gary Mallen is a seasoned construction professional with extensive experience and a proven track record of success in the industry. With a passion for operational excellence and a deep understanding of construction processes, Gary has excelled in the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) within the construction sector. With a career spanning over 25 years, Gary has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and an ability to drive organizational growth. As COO, Gary oversees and manages the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless execution of projects and optimal utilization of resources.

Throughout his career, Gary has held various key positions in the construction industry, honing his expertise in areas such as project management, operations planning, cost control, risk management, and team leadership. He successfully led cross-functional teams and managed multiple construction projects simultaneously, ranging from Mega city housing projects to commercial projects. Gary and his management team stays abreast of the latest industry trends, innovations, and regulations, ensuring that the construction company they lead remains at the forefront of the industry.

As a Chartered Accountant by trade and CFO of Allco, Luvuyo prides himself in planning, developing and controlling company financial strategies and policies in order to meet company financial goals. Luvuyo is an experienced business professional with a solid record spanning over 10 years, and has worked in auditing, financial services, broadcast and media technology and the built environment.

In the built industry, Luvuyo has served in C-suite roles in various projects undertaken individually or in joint ventures. His experience consists of water and sanitation projects, construction of smart schools and construction of residential property.

As a proud member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, Luvuyo is passionate about providing quality and client-centricity in every project he embarks on.

Johannes has over 20 years of extensive experience in commercial, residential, and retail property. Managing his own portfolio and developing new projects within Gauteng, he has a special interest in human settlements and providing property solutions for all South Africans.

Johannes prides himself in his professional relationships and believes in working towards a common good. He has multiple Theology degrees from the University of Pretoria and Potchefstroom.

Moss prides himself in developing and executing company strategies, meeting deliverables with success. He is an experienced business professional with a solid record spanning over 30 years, and has worked in financial services, logistics and the built environment.

In the built industry, Moss served on various construction and engineering consulting company boards, as well as on the executive committee of the Master Builders Association North region and represented the association on the executive committee of the Construction Sector Charter Council as well as the board of the Master Builders Association of South Africa.

Moss is an associate member of the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa (ACG), completed an H.Dip Company Law and a Corporate Management Development Programme (MDP) offered by the Manchester Business School.
